June 19, 2020 Updates

The following applies to adopters, staff, and invitees:
  • ANYONE (yes that includes you too Mom, Ryan Day, and Eddie Vedder) entering the building MUST have a mask on
  • WE ask that you all maintain distance of 10 feet from others at UCHS
  • No one under the age of 18 will be permitted in the building
  • We ask that everyone use hand sanitizer when signing in
  • Anyone coughing, wheezing, sneezing, touching, hugging, kissing will be asked to wait outside.
We will be open to the public for adoptions BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We will conduct phone interviews about the animal(s) you are interested in and following the phone interview, if you are still interested in the the animal(s), we will schedule a time for you to come in.

Our normal adoption screening process still applies.

A few other important things of note:
  • We will begin allowing volunteers back by the end of the month on a limited basis
  • We are sanitizing all surfaces, door knobs, leashes, restrooms hourly
  • We are looking at restricted hours and will communicate back as soon as possible with any changes in normal open hours
  • As new information becomes available or additional directives come from our local, state, or Federal government, we will evaluate the need for further restrictions or adapt to follow guidelines and mandates.

WE ARE OPEN to intake dog/cat surrenders and have resumed cat clinic operations!! Please call 937.642.6716 to make a surrender request or schedule an appointment for cat clinic. We accept adoptable animals in the order of requests we receive.

Response to COVID-19: March 27, 2020

In response to COVID-19, UCHS is changing a few processes to ensure the safest environment for our patrons, staff, volunteers, and America. We will be open to the public for adoptions BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We will conduct phone interviews about the animal(s) you are interested in and following the phone interview, if you are still interested in the the animal(s), we will schedule a time for you to come in.

Our normal adoption screening process still applies.

  • We will be giving away one FREE roll of toilet paper with every adoption over $150
  • We are discontinuing cat clinic until further notice
  • We are sanitizing all surfaces, door knobs, leashes, restrooms hourly
  • We are looking at restricted hours and will communicate back as soon as possible with any changes in normal open hours
  • As new information becomes available or additional directives come from our local, state, or Federal government, we will evaluate the need for further restrictions or adapt to follow guidelines and mandates.
