Nicki came to us in 2020 when her owner passed away. In these three years of searching for a home, Nicki has developed dog reactivity with other dogs and has since been diagnosed with epilepsy. Not only did Nicki have to deal with the loss of her beloved owner, she has struggled to adapt in the shelter environment over the years. In 2022, Nicki met her foster parents. Nicki's fosters provided her with the one thing Nicki has ever desired- a home. We are so grateful her fosters opened up their home to Nicki for an entire year and gave her such a long, deserving break from the shelter. We understood that Nicki's foster parents were only fosters. This being said, Nicki is begging for a forever home so she no longer has to worry about where she will be heading next. With the wonderful care of her fosters, she has incredible house manors and loves family get togethers. She does great with kids and overall wants the company of humans. Nicki cannot be homed with other dogs or cats and while we understand this can limit awesome adopters, we also know that we've had the pleasure of meeting her amazing foster parents and we know there is someone out there waiting to give Nicki the life she has been waiting for. If you cannot adopt Nicki, please share her story. Three years is too long for a dog to spend in a shelter. Let's do right by Nicki and find her forever person.
