SPAY AND NEUTER INFORMATION

Did you know that there are an estimatead 1,000,000 feral and free-roaming cats in Central Ohio? Did you know that cats can have up to four litters per year and approximately 6-8 kittens per litter? Did you know that one pair of cats can produce 420,000 offspring in only five years?

To combat this growing problem, the Union County Humane Society partnered with the Black and Orange Cat Foundation in Plain City on a Trap-Neuter-Release program in 2006. Studies have shown that TNR programs are the most humane and effective way to bring down the feral cat population, and since 2006 the demand for these services have grown. In 2009, the UCHS received a donation of a second anesthesia unit which doubled our capacity and ability to provide services, and we are now offering spay/neuter services to the public.

*Please note, all feral cats will be ear tipped as this is the industry standard for humane tracking of spayed/neutered feral cats in colonies.

*Please note, income qualified regular spay/neuters requires presentation of a valid EBT or MediCaid card.

You must sign up for Spay Day in advance as we have limited space, in order to obtain an appointment please download the two forms below, fill them out, and call Carol Martin, Medical Services Supervisor at 937-642-6716 to make a $20 deposit.
